Your next customer asked an assistant. It sent them somewhere else.
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot now answer shopping questions instead of listing links. They answer with your product data, and they often quote something you changed a year ago. Run the free check and see whether ChatGPT names your store when shoppers ask.
Your product data lives in three places. Nothing warns you when they disagree.
You update a product page. The two other copies of that product, the ones the assistants actually read, stay exactly as they were.

It is not lying about you. It is quoting you, just the wrong version of you.
97%
of the products we have checked carry at least one fact that contradicts the store selling them. Not typos. Details a shopper compares before buying.
- A product sold in five colours, listed as one.The variants never reached the feed, so anyone asking for olive gets sent to a competitor.
- A price that has not been right since last summer. The shopper arrives expecting the old price, sees the new one at checkout, and leaves.
- 412 reviews, shown as none. The same product was split across several listings. The assistant read the empty one.
- A kitchen appliance filed under garden furniture. One wrong category, and a perfect product never shows up for the questions that should find it.

Does ChatGPT name your store when shoppers ask?
Enter your store's address. The check writes the questions your shoppers ask, puts them to ChatGPT, and shows you who it names. About two minutes, no email needed to see the result.
- Read your catalogue
Your public product list, the one any visitor can see. Nothing to install.
- Write the questions
Four shopper questions about what you sell, none with your name, and one about you.
- Ask ChatGPT
With web search, located in the US.
- Read the answers
Whether you are named, who is named instead, and which details do not match your store.

We scored our own store first. It came back 25 out of 100.
Novaalab is our direct-to-consumer brand on Shopify: eight products, selling in the US. Assistants were already recommending it, often with the wrong details. We fixed the product data, then scored it again.
monthly revenue from AI recommendations, from $70k in April to $101k in August
of total sales now come from an AI recommendation, up from 3.6% in April
on the same 100-point score, up from 25 in June, with two stages still to go
Share of total revenue from AI recommendations
Total sales dipped over the summer, as they do every year. AI recommendations grew through it. Figures come from post-purchase answers by buyers, so read them as a direction rather than a decimal.
What changed for shoppers
- Assistants stopped quoting a price we no longer charge.
- Products started showing up in their own category.
- Assistants could compare our specs instead of guessing them.
- Every product told the same story on every channel.
That was mostly stage two. Stages one and three are still under way, which is why the score is 49 and not 80.

Merchants who made these mistakes first
I run Novaalab, a direct-to-consumer brand on Shopify. The first store we ever scored was our own, and it came back at 25 out of 100. Every point we check is a mistake we either made ourselves or found in someone else's admin. Now we fix them for other stores.

Do I need to install anything?
No. Enter your store's address. The check reads your public product list. There is nothing to install.
How long does it take?
About two minutes. You can close the page while it runs: the result keeps its own link.
How is this different from SEO?
SEO gets you listed by a search engine. This gets you named, and named correctly, by an assistant that answers instead of listing. Most of the work is in your product data and your feeds, which SEO rarely touches.
I sell outside the US.
The check asks ChatGPT in English, as a shopper in the US. Other markets are not covered yet.
Is this a sales pitch?
The check is free, and you see the result without giving an email. We do sell this as a service, and there is one section about it below.
Rather hand it over?
The free check covers ChatGPT. Our audit covers four assistants, and we do the fixes.
Start here
Find out where you stand
We score your store out of 100 and run the Four-Assistant Check on the questions your shoppers ask, with every place an answer differs from your own data.

Then
Get it fixed
We do the work in your Shopify admin and your theme: product fields, categories, feeds, and the content that wins the questions you should own.
Monthly, fixed scope
After that
Keep watch
Assistants change what they read, and competitors move. Every month we re-run the check and tell you what shifted, and where a rival started winning.
